ABar Rooftop

Open-air gin rooftop on the 38th floor of Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park with leafy lounges and skyline views over Sukhumvit.

ABar Rooftop feels like a perch above one of Bangkok’s busiest neighbourhoods that somehow stays calm. Sitting on the 38th floor of Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, it spreads out across a single, generously sized terrace: low sofas separated by hedges, a glowing bar pavilion and open views over the Phrom Phong towers and Benchasiri Park. The focus here is less on spectacle and more on giving you a comfortable place to work slowly through very good drinks.

Gin living room above Sukhumvit

As you step onto the terrace, it feels more like an elevated garden lounge than a classic high-rise bar. Plants line the edges, lanterns sit on tables, and striped cushions and sofas are arranged in clusters—easy to claim as your base for the night. A walkway along the perimeter gives you long views towards Asok in one direction and towards Thonglor in the other.

Arrive around sunset and the city drops into place below you: BTS trains sliding past the Emporium, traffic threading around Benchasiri Park, towers catching the last light. As the sky deepens, the bar’s lighting takes over—warm, golden, flattering—and the music stays firmly in lounge territory. This is not a shouty rooftop; it’s more of a slow burner where conversations stretch out over several rounds.

100+ gins, signature cocktails and snack-friendly food

ABar Rooftop is known for its gin collection: more than 100 labels spanning big names and smaller craft distilleries. The menu is laid out by style and origin, with suggested tonics and garnishes, so you can treat it like a mini tasting tour. If you’re not in the mood for gin, there are still plenty of options—signature cocktails built around other spirits, classics, wine and beer.

The food menu keeps things deliberately simple: sharing plates, bar bites and a few more substantial dishes that sit comfortably between “snack” and “light dinner”. Think sliders, fries, small plates from the hotel’s kitchens downstairs and desserts that pair nicely with a final round. It’s enough to stay put all evening without needing a second restaurant stop.

Dress code is casual chic: sportswear, flip-flops, sleeveless tops and open shoes for men are officially not allowed, which matches the polished but relaxed feeling of the space.
