Akara Sky Hanuman

Thai-inspired rooftop world at One City Centre: cultural shows, skyline decks, digital art zones and Hanuman cocktails high above Phloen Chit.

Akara Sky Hanuman feels less like a single bar and more like a small world in the sky. Spread over several floors on top of One City Centre, it combines an observation deck, digital art zones, a Thai night market, a rooftop garden and a Hanuman-themed bar where cultural shows play out against the skyline. If you want a place that wraps Thai stories, food and nightlife into one evening above Phloen Chit, this is it.

Thai night above Phloen Chit

Arriving at OCC already feels a bit different to the usual hotel lift ride. Staff send you up through a series of floors where Bangkok is reflected in glass, lanterns and digital skies before you finally step out into the open air on level 61. Here the rooftop garden wraps around a huge Hanuman statue, with tables, lounge areas and viewing points scattered around the edge.

As the sun drops behind the towers of Sukhumvit and the Siam district, the whole space changes mood. Lights sharpen, the DJ raises the volume just enough and the first show begins: dancers, traditional Thai costumes, sometimes even Muay Thai performed in front of the statue with projection mapping and smoke. It feels theatrical without becoming theme-park; people watch, take photos, then drift back to their tables as the room resets for the next round.

Cultural shows, Thai dishes & skyline cocktails

Akara Sky Hanuman is billed as the “world’s first Thai immersive rooftop”, and the programme backs that up. Every hour or so, different performances take over the central stage – classical Thai dance, live music and Muay Thai-inspired shows – all played against 360° city views.

Food leans into Thai comfort with a rooftop twist: dishes that borrow from street food, regional recipes and Akara’s own restaurants, easy to share at low tables or while you move between zones. Drinks follow the same path. The cocktail list highlights local ingredients and playful concepts – mango sticky rice, Thai herbal notes, massage-inspired flavours – plus bottle serves that come out with costumed staff and plenty of theatre.

Tickets and passes are structured around day, sunset and night, sometimes bundled with dinner or a show package. Once you’re inside, you can wander between the observation deck, art experiences and the bar areas at your own pace.
