Anatara Siam

Grand lobby hotel with murals, gardens and a courtyard pool off Ratchadamri.

Anantara Siam Bangkok is one of those hotels that feels familiar even on a first stay. You step in from Ratchadamri Road and suddenly you’re under soaring ceilings, surrounded by hand-painted silk murals, koi ponds and palm-framed courtyards. Outside are skytrains, shrines and some of the busiest malls in the city; inside the mood is resort-like, with soft lighting, polished service and just enough bustle from the lobby and restaurants to keep it lively rather than stiff.

A grand lobby with Thai details and resort energy

The hotel’s personality is set the moment you cross the lobby: chandeliers above, silk murals wrapping the walls and a central pond that pulls daylight into the space. It feels more like an old-school city club than a glassy new tower, and that sense of place continues upstairs. Rooms blend classic Thai touches – teak, silk, carved panels – with the comforts you actually want on a city break: big beds, marble bathrooms and views over gardens, the pool or the green fairways of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.

Despite the central address, there’s a surprising amount of outdoor space. Garden cabanas and low-rise wings frame the pool and inner courtyards, so you can step out of an air-conditioned mall and be lying under palm trees ten minutes later. It’s one of the few places in the shopping district where you still get that “resort in the middle of the city” feeling.

Courtyard pool days, spa rituals and a serious dining scene

At the heart of the property is the courtyard pool, wrapped by tropical plants, loungers and a small family area, with a gym and squash court nearby for more active days. The spa leans into Thai and Asian therapies – from classic massages to longer ritual journeys – and there’s a kids’ club and mini-playground, which makes the hotel an easy choice for mixed-age trips where some people want city energy and others just want to unwind.

Food is a major part of the story here. The hotel’s restaurants cover Italian at Biscotti, steakhouse classics at Madison, Thai dishes at Spice Market, Japanese at Shintaro and contemporary Latin plates at Guilty, plus casual spots like Mocha & Muffins and the open-air AQUA bar. On Sundays, everything comes together in a brunch that spills through the courtyard, mixing seafood towers, carving stations, desserts and dishes from all the signature kitchens.

With BTS Ratchadamri only a minute’s walk away, you’re also well placed for exploring: Siam Paragon, CentralWorld, Gaysorn Village and the shrines of Ratchaprasong are all within easy strolling distance, while Lumphini Park is close enough for an early-morning run or slow evening walk before dinner.
