Cielo Sky Bar & Restaurant

Relaxed Sukhumvit rooftop on the 46th floor with 360° views, fair prices and a mix of Thai and Western comfort dishes.

Cielo is the sort of rooftop you recommend when someone wants big views without big drama. Perched on the 46th floor of Sky Walk Residences at W District, it looks out in every direction over Sukhumvit but feels more like a neighbourhood restaurant than a glossy hotel bar. You come up for a proper sit-down dinner, an easy round of cocktails or just to see how wide Bangkok stretches from this part of town.

A local’s 360° rooftop over Phra Khanong

The lift opens straight into the dining room: glass on both sides, white tablecloths, simple chairs and a bar that anchors the space. Step outside and the terrace wraps around the building, with different pockets of seating facing east, west and towards the city centre. Walk a little further and you reach the glass-floored skywalk—a short, transparent bridge where you can look straight down at Sukhumvit Road and the BTS line.

Early in the evening the atmosphere is calm and unhurried. Couples take the edge tables, families or small groups choose spots closer to the building, and there’s an easy mix of locals, expats and visitors who’ve clearly done some research. As the evening goes on, the lights of Phra Khanong, Ekkamai and Thonglor start to sparkle; you see trains slide in and out of the station and realise how much of the city you can see from a place that isn’t in a five-star hotel.

Thai and Western dishes, classic drinks & fair pricing

Cielo works as both restaurant and bar. The menu leans on a mix of Thai favourites and Western comfort dishes: pastas, steaks, seafood, risottos and salads sit alongside local classics that make sense on a rooftop—grilled meats, spicy salads and sharable appetisers. Portions are generous, and prices are noticeably gentler than at most central rooftops, which is part of the appeal.

The drinks list covers the bases: classic cocktails, a few signatures, wine by the glass and bottle, beers and non-alcoholic options. You won’t find experimental mixology here, but you will get a well-made G&T, a straightforward Mojito or a simple whisky-soda while you focus on the view and conversation. Service is friendly in that slightly old-school Thai rooftop way—attentive, but not hovering.

Dress code is smart casual: no flip-flops, sportswear, backpacks or sleeveless shirts for men, but you don’t need a suit. A shirt or blouse, long trousers or a skirt and closed shoes will keep you comfortably within the rules.
