CRU Champagne Bar & Red Sky

Two stacked rooftops above CentralWorld: Red Sky for cocktails and European dining, CRU on top for Champagne and 360° skyline drama.

Red Sky and CRU are Centara Grand’s double rooftop act above CentralWorld. Red Sky, spread over the 55th and 56th floors, mixes a European-leaning restaurant with a cocktail terrace under a colour-shifting arch that has become one of Bangkok’s recognisable rooftop silhouettes. Above that, on the 59th floor, CRU Champagne Bar crowns the building with an open-air Champagne deck and 360° views that run from the Chao Phraya to the towers of Sukhumvit. Together they feel like one continuous night out: dinner and cocktails below, then a glass of something sparkling at the very top.

Multi-level rooftop above the shopping district

You reach Red Sky via the elevators inside CentralWorld’s attached hotel. The restaurant occupies the 55th floor, a multi-level indoor/outdoor space with large windows and a terrace that curls around the building. One floor above, the Red Sky Bar sits in the open air, framed by its glowing arch; from here you see Siam’s malls, BTS lines and the web of roads around Pathumwan from well above the traffic.

As sunset approaches, the light drops between towers and the sky moves from orange to deep blue. The bar starts to fill: couples arriving for pre-dinner cocktails, hotel guests wandering up with cameras, groups settling into sofa sections for a slow series of rounds. The atmosphere is surprisingly relaxed for such a central location—reviews often mention the generous spacing between tables and the ability to actually talk while you drink.

Later in the evening, the elevator to CRU adds a final step. You emerge on the 59th floor onto a circular terrace with a central bar and nothing above you but sky. The name comes from the French term for high-quality vineyards, and the Champagne theme runs throughout: Veuve Clicquot by the glass and bottle, Champagne-based cocktails and a general feeling that this is where you come to mark a moment.

European dining, signature cocktails and Champagne in the sky

Red Sky Restaurant is very much a proper dinner venue. The menu leans European with a strong grill component: steaks, seafood, risottos and a Surf & Turf tower that appears regularly in reviews, alongside specials like Alaskan king crab and carefully plated starters. It’s “special occasion” food, but still approachable and built to share if you prefer.

Upstairs at Red Sky Bar, the focus shifts to cocktails and lighter bites. Signature drinks like the Imperial Mojito and Martini-style creations, plus a wide wine list and Champagne, pair with tapas, gourmet snacks and dessert plates. Happy-hour style deals and drink promotions appear frequently, especially early in the evening, making it easier to plan around the premium prices.

At CRU, Champagne is the headline. The bar pushes Veuve Clicquot and Champagne-led signatures, but also offers still wines, other cocktails and a compact snack menu. It’s less about a full meal and more about framing one or two glasses with one of the better 360° views in this part of the city.

Dress code across both venues is smart casual: no singlets, flip-flops or very casual sportswear. Officially, guests under 20 are not allowed at the bars in line with Thai law.
