Multi-level rooftop above Thonglor with 360° views, DJ sets and an easy-going mix of sundowner drinks and late-night vibes.
High above Thonglor, Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar stretches over mehrere Etagen des Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit and feels like a vertical evening in the city. One floor for dinner, one for drinks, one for full-on rooftop views – all wrapped in 360-degree Bangkok skyline.
You start on the lower rooftop level, where tables, banquettes and soft lighting set the mood for drinks and small plates. A short flight of stairs takes you higher, the music gets a little louder and the city opens up around you. By the time you reach the top deck, there is almost nothing between you and the skyline but a thin line of glass.
The atmosphere sits in that sweet spot between laid-back and special: hotel guests, Thonglor regulars and after-work groups all blend together, moving between levels for different views and playlists. Early in the evening it’s all about sunset colours over Sukhumvit; later at night it turns into more of a sky-high lounge with DJs and a gentle party energy rather than a full-on club.
Octave runs as a rooftop restaurant and bar in one: Asian-inspired sharing plates, seafood and grills on the lower floors, then a stronger focus on drinks as you move up. The cocktail list mixes classics with signatures built around tropical fruit, herbs and spices – easy to drink, nicely presented and designed to match the view rather than overpower it.
The dress code is casual chic: relaxed but polished, with sportswear, flip-flops and sleeveless tops for men officially discouraged. Service is friendly hotel style; staff are quick to point you to the best level for photos or to help time your visit so you catch both sunset and city lights. Reservations are a good idea on weekends, especially if you want a front-row table along the edge.
