Roman-style pizza bar under Asok BTS with crisp-by-weight slices, fresh pasta, deli counter and constant, come-and-go energy.
Pala Pizza Romana is a Roman-style pizza bar built right into the BTS Asok / MRT Sukhumvit interchange – a constant flow of people, trays of pizza al taglio and the smell of fresh dough in the air. Slices are cut by weight, the menu runs from classics to more creative toppings, and there’s a compact list of pasta, salads and deli items if you want more than just a quick bite. It’s one of those places that feels casual and everyday, but ends up on everyone’s “must eat in Bangkok” list.
Wedged under the skywalk between BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit, Pala is almost impossible to miss: a glowing counter stacked with long rectangular pizzas, people queuing along the corridor, and a steady hum of orders in Thai, English and Italian.
Inside, the space is narrow and busy, with high tables, stools and a few regular tables tucked along the wall. It feels more like a neighbourhood bar in Rome than a mall restaurant: staff move quickly, plates and wooden boards land on tables at speed, and there’s always someone eyeing up the next slice in the display.
You can treat it as a grab-and-go pit stop between trains, or stay a little longer, watch the crowd pass by outside the windows and pretend Asok is your local piazza.
