A red-villa trattoria where slow-fermented pizza, hearty Northern Italian dishes and a warm garden setting turn Sathorn into a little corner of Italy.
Peppina on Sukhumvit 33 is the flagship of one of Bangkok’s most loved pizza names – an AVPN-certified Neapolitan pizzeria just off the main road. Since 2014, it has focused on properly fermented dough, San Marzano tomatoes and quality toppings, earning a spot on Asia-Pacific pizza lists and a loyal crowd of local regulars. If you’re serious about pizza in Bangkok, this is one of the benchmarks.
You find Peppina near the end of Sukhumvit Soi 33 – head down the soi, turn left near the end and the pizzeria is on your right. From outside you see warm light, stacks of pizza boxes and the glow of the oven; inside, it’s all clatter and conversation: big groups, couples, families and solo regulars all squeezed into a room that feels like a modern trattoria.
The atmosphere is loud in a good way – music, the sound of pizza peels hitting the oven, plates landing on tables. Service moves fast but stays friendly, and there’s usually a small buzz around the open kitchen as pizzas go in and out of the flame. It’s the kind of place where you can dress up a little or just walk in from the BTS and still feel at home.
